August 12, 2019
The Mat-Su Cooperative Extension office will host a free class on identifying Alaska’s
wild berries Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center.

Extension series. She will talk about how to identify edible and toxic berries, where
and when to pick, and tips for storage and use. Weather permitting, participants will
take a walk around the experiment farm to see what they can find.
Although the one-hour class is free, registration is encouraged by calling the district
office of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service at 907-745-3360.
