Over the last year, the Student Recreation Center and Outdoor Adventures have come together to form the new Department of Recreation, Adventure and Wellness
(DRAW). With this new department comes a new management at the SRC. The new staff
and experienced staff are working to make a better facility for all users.
During this time of transition, feedback is being requested from SRC users in order
to improve the customer's experience with the SRC facility and services. The Google Survey covers all the operations at the SRC, but you will only be required to answer questions
that pertain to your personal use.
Surveys are found online. Completed submissions received before May 1 will be entered into
a drawing for a variety of prizes (heart rate monitor, cruiser bike, gift certificate
to Beaver Sports, logo-ed gear).
There are also some renovations happening at the SRC this summer, beginning in May
and going through mid-July. The SRC will be open during the renovations, but occasional
closures will occur in certain areas of the facility. Closures will be announced via fliers
at the SRC, the SRC website and Facebook.
Upcoming improvements include:
- Increased electrical capacity to handle more treadmills
- Walls around the dance floor for privacy and sound improvements. The new walls will have windows with blinds.
- New office and front desk layout for increased staff and service.
- Trained staff will be regularly available to instruct users on proper use of different machines.
- New carpet throughout the facility.
- New area for equipment check-out.
- New water filling station with water softener for better taste.
- More consumable items for sale (batteries, locks, ear-buds, chalk, and much more).
- Increased security measures to prevent thefts and unauthorized entry.
