May 3, 2012
The Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization would like to announce the solicitation for the Innovation Seed Awards. UAF faculty
and staff are eligible to submit proposals to receive an innovation seed grant for
up to $10,000. Innovation seed awards are intended to aid inventors in mid- to late-stage
technology development at UAF. Proposals will be evaluated and awarded on a competitive
basis. Three awards will be made in FY13.
Applications will be accepted immediately through May 14. Applications should be no
more than four pages in length and should include purpose, previous research and a
proposed budget, including other sources of available funding. Full-time staff should
include a letter of support from their supervisor. Applications should be submitted
electronically to Mary Bellamy at OIPC in the Denali Building at 3352 College Road
or email mybellamy@alaska.edu. All awarded funding should be spent by December 31, 2013. A brief post-award report
about how the seed funding enhanced UAF technology development will be required no
later than 30 days beyond the end of the award.
