UAF to host unmanned aircraft meeting in Anchorage Alaska

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host the Alaska Unmanned Aircraft Systems Interest Group annual meeting Sept. 16-18 at the Anchorage Hilton Hotel.
The 2014 workshop will provide a forum for civil, commercial and government technologists, engineers, UAS and National Airspace System users and stakeholders to learn the latest about unmanned aircraft regulations and uses. In addition, on Monday, Sept. 15, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will host a workshop on how it plans to use unmanned aircraft in monitoring rivers.
The meeting is open to interested government, industry and private participants in the field of unmanned aircraft systems and robotics, as well as potential users from a variety of agencies, associations, institutions and commercial interests. About 155 people from Alaska, the U.S. and internationally have signed up for the meeting. For more information, please visit www.uasalaska.org.
The meeting is organized by the Alaska Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration, which is part of the UAF Geophysical Institute.
