Michele Chamberlin is joining UAF's Alaska Center for Energy and Power as its new energy data manager.

Chamberlin has worked as an intern, graduate student and temporary employee at ACEP over the last several years. He has developed familiarity with the MiGRIDS and HOMER Pro tools and investigated renewable energy integration into diesel-based microgrids. Most recently, he refined energy distribution models for food, energy and water-related infrastructure in remote Alaska communities as part of the National Science Foundation MicroFEWs project.

Chamberlin completed his undergraduate studies at the Swiss Institute of Technology in Zurich in environmental engineering, followed by a master’s degree in energy science and technology, also at ETH.

In his capacity as an energy data manager, Chamberlin will help develop, evaluate and coordinate data management and implement industry best practices in support of the data collection and analysis program as well as for specific projects, including the Engineering Research and Development Center and National Coastal Mapping Program and Joint Airborne Lidar Bathymetry Technical Center of Expertise projects.
