A series of three videos offer thoughtful perspectives on happiness and well-being. Alaska Native Elder Esther Green and Associate Professor Diane McEachern gave the presentations to students in a 1-credit course led by Matthew Wooler.

Green is a 2021 UAF Meritorious Service Award recipient. She is a long-time educator and storyteller known for her work through the Kuskokwim Campus and throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. McEachern, who received the 2020 Emil Usibelli Distinguished Teaching Award, is a KUC associate professor specializing in social and behavioral science, rural social work, Indigenous epistemology, and suicide prevention.

In the videos, the two women share stories about a broad array of happiness and well-being topics, including compassion, empathy, generosity and mindfulness.
