Monthly Nerd Nite begins Oct. 10

Nerd Nite starts Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. in the Pub. It continues through the fall semester on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and Wednesday, Dec. 5.

“The events are similar to TedTalks, but with local presenters on a range of topics,” according to Fairbanks Nerd Nite coordinator Jessica Johnson. “Their slogan is ‘It’s like Discovery Channel, but with beer!’”

If you have a topic of substance that you want to share with the world, now's your chance. Talks should last about 20 minutes. Audio and video clips are welcome.

Faculty, staff, administrators and students can all participate, but you must be 21 years or older to enter the Pub. Visit the Fairbanks group’s Facebook page and read more at the national Nerd Nite website.
