Below is a follow-up to the UAF building closure notice that was sent out yesterday afternoon, March 26.

As of today, March 27, the campus mail center will remain in operation with some changes. Constitution Building hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Box-holder mail pickup will not be available outside of those hours.

All campus deliveries will stop, effective immediately; however, departments will be able to pick up mail from the counter Monday through Friday, noon-3 p.m. Please call 474-7215 to schedule a set time for pickup to alleviate congestion in the hallway.

Box-holders who receive packages too large for their box will need to schedule a pickup time during counter hours Monday through Friday, noon-3 p.m., by calling 474-7215 .

FedEx and UPS deliveries to closed buildings will be redirected to central receiving at 1855 Marika Road. Please call 474-6137 to schedule a pickup time for those items.

Campus mail center box-holder FedEx and UPS deliveries will still be accepted using the 1692 Tok Lane, Suite 107 address.

Questions may be directed to 474-7215 or uaf-campusmailcenter@alaska.edu .

For safety purposes all campus showers will also be closed until further notice, and all UAF shuttle service will be suspended. Both will reopen when campus facilities are opened back up to the public. If ADA transportation assistance is needed, please contact Facilities Services, customer service at 474-7000.

With the campus closure to the general public and limited access to our own staff, faculty and students, I encourage you to come prepared and be sure to have your Polar Express card or university-issued key on hand. Essential faculty and staff who already have access to facilities will maintain that access for employment and research.

The UAF Police Department and community safety officers will help unlock exterior doors as needed, but they are also continuing to do essential work on campus so please be patient. Please try to work with building coordinators or key authorities on assistance with interior door access. UPD dispatch can be reached at 474-7721 for lockout assistance.
