Music in the Garden concerts begin June 2

Fairbanks-area bands and musical ensembles will perform Thursday evenings throughout
the summer at the Georgeson Botanical Garden at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
The 2016 Music in the Garden series will feature 10 local bands and is sponsored by
UAF Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning, with support from Alaska Coffee Roasting
Co., Sound Reinforcement Specialists, Georgeson Botanical Garden, the UAF School of
Natural Resources and Extension, and KUAC. Concerts will be at 7 p.m. each Thursday
from June 2 to Aug. 11.
Concert-goers are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic but are asked to please
leave pets at home. Parking will be available on West Ridge. A short walking path
to the garden, which is located at the Fairbanks Experiment Farm, begins at the overlook.
Concerts are free, but the garden will accept donations.

June 16 — Dry Cabin String Band
June 23 — Rock Bottom Stompers
June 30 — Emily Anderson
July 14 — Fairbanks Community Jazz Band
July 21 — Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival Celtic Ensemble
July 28 — Fairbanks Red Hackle Pipe Band
Aug. 4 — Cold Steel Drums
Aug. 11 — ET Barnette String Band
