Kaia Norbye, a sophomore for Alaska Nanooks swimming, has been named a Scholar All-America Honorable Mention for the 2018-2019 season by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America. Norbye is one of 890 honorable mention selections.

To be a CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention, swimmers need a GPA of 3.50 or better. They also need to achieve at least one NCAA “B” cut standard time or compete at an NCAA regional qualifier. Norbye, a psychology major, earned a 3.51 cumulative GPA in her first year at UAF. She earned one NCAA “B” cut in the pool this past season with a time of 23.48 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle race.

Last month, the Alaska Nanooks women’s swimming team was named a Scholar All-America Team for the spring 2019 semester. For more information on the Alaska Nanooks swimming and diving team, follow @NanooksSwim on Twitter or like the Alaska Nanooks swimming team page on Facebook.
