A new chair of the UAF Master Planning Committee will be needed starting in May.  The MPC is an advisory committee to the chancellor and is composed of staff, faculty, students and community members. It updates and assists in the implementation of the UAF Campus Master Plan, and reviews projects and initiatives with significant visual impact to the campus.

The MPC engages in information gathering and analysis and provides a public and open process in the master planning efforts. It also develops recommendations for the chancellor from requests from students, faculty, staff, university organizations and the public on items including campus land uses, buildings, landscapes, open space, locations, aesthetics, campus beautification, traffic and pedestrian flow, lighting, and trails.

The MPC currently meets monthly with additional meetings as needed.

The current chair of the MPC, Josh Greenberg, is retiring from the School of Natural Resources and Extension after nearly 30 years of service to UAF, including eight years on the committee.

"I want to thank Josh for keeping me and university leadership up-to-date on campus master planning activities and changes," Chancellor White said. "Congratulations, and thanks for a job well done."

If you are interested in participating on the MPC or serving as its chair, please send a brief email to uaf.chancellor@alaska.edu.
