This summer, UAF eCampus wants to support UAF faculty as they find their footing in distance-based teaching. Instructional designers will be hosting Level Up: Foundations and Innovations in Distance Learning from May 11-15, 2020.

Level Up is a fully online week-long learning experience for instructors looking to level up their abilities as remote or online instructors. Through a mix of synchronous training sessions and asynchronous dialogue and collaboration, participants will explore multiple approaches to distance-based learning and the opportunities associated with each. Participants will be grouped into cohorts based on interests/specialties, and each cohort will work with a dedicated instructional designer. Participants should expect to spend 25 hours over the course of the week on the program, including one to two hours synchronously each day (sessions will be recorded for those unable to attend).

At the end of this program, teachers will be equipped to make confident choices about course modality, learning tools, and teaching practices in both synchronous and asynchronous virtual environments. Teachers will build relationships with peers and instructional designers with the option of continued support through the summer.

Deadline to apply is May 3, 2020.
