UAF welcomes new faculty members

Fall semester brought a cadre of new faculty members to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, while continuing faculty members returned from summer ventures.
New faculty
Fourteen new faculty members have joined UAF this semester. They are:

- Polly Hyslop, cross-cultural communication
- Amanda Kelley, Institute of Marine Science

- Kathleen Meckel, Alaska Native studies and rural development
- Santos Panda, Geophysical Institute
- Jen Peterson, psychology
- Eric Retterer, music
- Vaughan Seed, veterinary medicine
- Jessie Young-Robertson, IARC
Zinger visits Mongolia
Victor Zinger, a Fulbright senior specialist, visited Ulan Bator for three months
in 2016 to work at the American University of Mongolia. There, Zinger worked with administrators and faculty to develop the math curriculum
and train faculty for the university's engineering program. Zinger, an associate professor
of mathematics, is affiliated with the UAF College of Rural and Community Development.
