November Faculty Senate meeting Nov. 2

The November Faculty Senate agenda is now available. Faculty are encouraged to review the agenda and contact their representatives to discuss issues of interest. All Faculty Senate meetings are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend. 

The Faculty Senate meeting is Monday, Nov. 2, from 1-3 p.m. via livestream

The November meeting will feature AAUP guest speaker Henry “Hank” Reichman. Henry "Hank" Reichman is chair of the AAUP's Committee A on Academic Freedom and Tenure, a position he has held since 2012. He is also professor emeritus of history at California State University, East Bay. His book "The Future of Academic Freedom" was published by Johns Hopkins University Press in 2019 and won the Eli M. Oboler Award for the best work on intellectual freedom in 2018-19 by the American Library Association. His latest book, "Understanding Academic Freedom," will be published by Johns Hopkins in 2021. He edits and writes regularly for AAUP's Academe blog ( academeblog.org ). Reichman will speak about shared governance, academic freedom, and tenure.
