Hands-on programs at the University of Alaska Museum of the North during the month of November will explore the stars.

At Family Day: Stars on Saturday, Nov. 23, from noon to 4 p.m., visitors can explore different cultures, view the sky, investigate how scientists study stars, make a solar viewer and create glow-in-the-dark artwork. There is no admission fee for children 14 and under on Family Days, thanks to support from TOTE Maritime.

The Early Explorers program for families with children 5 and under will take place each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be no Early Explorers program on Nov. 1 and Nov. 29. On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Junior Curators program, which is open to children 6 and older, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. These activities are included with admission and are free for museum members.
