The Alaska Career Information System is the most widely used education and career planning tool among Alaska’s school districts. Many secondary students transitioning to the University of Alaska already have created a profile that staff and faculty can use to advise them on their educational goals. A training on Tuesday, Aug. 20, provides an overview of AKCIS, its features, uses and potential to engage users in a variety of fields including financial aid, programs of study assessments, occupations, resumes and career planning.

AKCIS provides free resources on each of these topics. Whether you are working with students one-on-one or in groups or classes, you can put this robust online resource in your toolbox.

Anyone who wants to learn about the career and education resources available through AKCIS is welcome to attend the free, online, hands-on demonstration Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to noon. Register here.
