University Relations

During these uncertain times with the COVID-19 pandemic and partial campus closure, Parking Services has received several inquiries regarding parking regulations and refunds.

Parking rules and regulations are still in effect, although we have opened up the two pay-by-plate lots at no additional charge in the campus core.

Snow removal, lot maintenance and improvements, and electricity are still expenses that UAF incurs whether the campus is operating as usual or partially closed. OIT has extended Wi-Fi outside in three parking lots so students, faculty and staff have access to secure wireless from the their cars, so these lots must remain accessible.

Student parking permit holders are eligible for a prorated refund on their student account upon. Refund eligibility will be based on whether the permit holder can utilize campus parking lots. A form must be submitted for each permit, and the physical permit the physical permit must be returned by mail.

All requests must be made by 5 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2020.

There are still employees working on campus, where approved to do so. For those faculty and staff members who have not been able to utilize their parking pass benefit due to the partial campus closure, parking passes will be offered at a discounted rate when the pass is renewed next year. If an employee has been placed on a COVID-19 temporary furlough or the employment contract has been terminated, a prorated refund will be issued when the pass is returned.
