UAF has been a longtime supporter of the Fairbanks Heart Walk, and even with all the uncertainty we are facing, the beat must go on.

The Heart Walk is happening Saturday, Aug. 22. While this is different from our usual May walk, I invite you to join me in being a Heart Hero. It is needed now more than ever. Those who are fighting heart disease and stroke are more vulnerable to coronavirus and more likely to develop severe symptoms. With your support today, we can help keep them healthy and safe.

The AHA is investing a minimum of $2.5 million to investigate the cardiovascular implications of coronavirus. They are teaching hospitals and communities how to safely and effectively administer CPR during the coronavirus pandemic. Also, the AHA is helping accelerate the discovery of new drugs to combat COVID-19. We can be a part of this solution.

How can we get involved as a campus community or individual?

Heart Walk Bingo is happening now, and someone will be earning an Alaska Airlines round trip ticket! Don’t delay — register for the Fairbanks Heart Walk today!

Thank you for joining me as we step up as leaders for heart health in our community.
