PolarExpress and Wells Fargo agreement ending
April 19, 2021
The PolarExpress card will be reverting to one magnetic stripe as the Wells Fargo contract ends. Access
to your Wells Fargo account through your PolarExpress card will discontinue around June 30. Those who have linked their Wells Fargo account to their PolarExpress card will receive communication from Wells Fargo concerning this change and any actions
that might be needed.
While the Wells Fargo ATM in the Wood Center will be staying, the ATM in the Moore-Bartlett-Skarland
Complex is scheduled to be removed at the end of April. UAF is currently reviewing
options for another ATM location.
The PolarExpress card is the permanent identification card for students, staff and faculty of the
university. The card includes the cardholder’s name, photograph and University of
Alaska identification number. There will be no interruption of service, and the blue
mag stripe on your current PolarExpress card will continue to be valid for all campus privileges.
Questions about PolarExpress cards may be directed to the UAF Office of the Bursar via email at uaf-bursar@alaska.edu or by calling 474-7384.
