Presentations to offer ideas for adapting homes

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will give public presentations about adapting homes for seniors and people with disabilities Sept. 18-20 in Fairbanks, North Pole and Salcha.
Extension energy specialist Art Nash will talk at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 18 at the Santa’s Senior Center, at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Fairbanks Senior Center and at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Salcha Senior Center.
Nash will talk about inexpensive modifications that will allow seniors and people with disabilities to live independently at home. Topics will include home entrances, lighting, the use of contrasting colors to improve visibility, stairs and steps, and bathroom accessibility. For more information, call Carmen at 907-474-5854.
