Space is still available.

Alaska NSF EPSCoR is partnering with the University of Alaska Foundation and Alaska INBRE to offer a pair of virtual sessions on private philanthropic support for research. The events, on Wednesday, Nov. 4, will offer an overview of the art and science of building relationships with corporations, private foundations, and individuals who might be inspired to invest in your work.

First, the UA Foundation will present on “Navigating Private Philanthropy at UA.” The one-hour session will focus on the process of seeking and accepting private gifts at UA, including the basics of how UA Foundation funds work and who to contact for more information.

Then, Advancement Resources will offer a two-hour presentation entitled “Insight into Private Philanthropy.” The session will explore the variety of ways that non-governmental support can enhance and extend the impact of research, and ways to create opportunities for interested individuals to connect and engage with researchers’ science.

The Zoom sessions will take place Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and from 10 a.m.-noon. Participation in both sessions is free and open to all UA faculty, staff, students and affiliates, including individuals not associated with Alaska NSF EPSCoR.

Attendees must register in advance. You can download a flyer (PDF) here. For more information, contact Tara Borland at taborland@alaska.edu or 474-6288.
