"Project management essentials for the unofficial project manager"

Have you quietly slipped into the role of an unofficial project manager? Stakeholders, scope creep, no formal training, and a lack of process all combine to raise the probability of project failure costing you time, money and employee morale.

"myUA performance management tool training"
Wednesday, March 6 | 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m.
Butrovich Building, Room 109

The University of Alaska has implemented a new performance management tool through PageUp, UA’s recruitment system. UA Statewide chief human resources officer Keli Hite McGee will provide the training. There is no cost to participate. The training is for all University of Alaska employees, not just supervisors. The performance management tool provides a collaborative space for employees and supervisors to track the success and progress of an employee.

The following will be covered in the training:

  • Explaining PageUp, UA’s recruitment tool

  • Performance management best practices

  • New employee learning library

"Effective communication training"
Wednesday, March 6 | 10:30 a.m.-noon
Butrovich Building, Room 109

This training focuses on defining and developing the art of communication in the workplace. Led by UAchief human resources officer Keli Hite McGee, this training develops an effective communication tool kit, outlines different communication styles, helps recognize barriers that might inhibit shared understanding, and the importance of building trust. There is no cost to participate.

"Leading customer loyalty"
Thursday, March 7 | 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Butrovich Building, Room 109

Employee loyalty comes first, then customer loyalty. This is a one-day work session for frontline managers to learn the principles and practices needed to win the hearts of employees and their customers. Managers leave with a clear understanding of how to model, teach, and reinforce empathy, responsibility, and generosity.
