Professors to discuss issues facing Japan's indigenous Ainu people

Kunihiko Yoshida and Jeff Gayman, professors at Hokkaido University in Japan, will present on the topic of “Property Law Policy for the Indigenous Ainu People in Japan and the Unresolved Issue of Reparations" from noon-2 p.m. Monday, April 10, in the Brooks Building RSS Gathering Room.

Issues surrounding indigenous peoples of Japan have similarities to those faced by indigenous Alaskans.

The presentation is hosted by the Department of Alaska Native Studies and Rural Development. Light refreshments will be available.
