The University of Alaska Fairbanks will hold a community open house on Wednesday,
Sept. 26, to gather public feedback for its new campus master plan, which is currently
being developed. The open house will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Regents' Great
Hall in the Fine Arts Complex.
The plan will guide future development and improvement of the physical environment
on the Fairbanks campus, including buildings, streets and paths, and green spaces.
The plan will include potential new building sites and major renovations as well as
goals for open space, pedestrian and vehicle circulation systems, and parking. UAF’s
current master plan was approved in June 2010 and is available online at http://www.uaf.edu/fs/uaf2010masterplan/.
During the open house, UAF staff members and consultants will give a short presentation
about the plan and then be available to answer questions. Community members are encouraged
to attend to provide their input. Parking on campus is free after 5 p.m.
