Author Johnathan Waterman will present "The Evolution of an Adventurer" as part of a lecture and author event, sponsored by the University of Alaska Press, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 in the Murie Auditorium.

Waterman will share his career through 35 years of dramatic images, video and storytelling. The author of 12 books will address how he made a living as an adventurer to fulfill a passion for remote expeditions, while specifically showing – through ecologic observations and careful photography – how changing climate and development compromises wilderness. Ultimately, his gratitude for wild places inspired his devotion to conservation causes.

This lecture program encapsulates his new book, Northern Exposures: An Adventuring Career in Stories and Images, and the presentation will be followed by a question and answer session and book signing.

If you can't make it to this event, Waterman will have another author event from 6 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Gulliver’s Books, 3525 College Road, in Fairbanks.
