The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service is reminding the
public that seismic activity and shifting ground may affect radon levels in your home.
Homeowners should retest for radon after major earthquakes or floods, even if their
homes have been tested before. The radioactive gas is the second leading cause of
cancer, after smoking.
Contact the Alaska Radon Hotline at 1-800-478-8324 for more information on how to
get a test kit.
