Rally for Ramen

April 25, 2019

University Relations

The inaugural Swipe Out Hunger event at UAF starts this Saturday, April 27, with the Rally for Ramen from 1-4 p.m. in Constitution Park, outside Wood Center. Students can learn more about the Swipe Out Hunger initiative at this mini-carnival event, all while de-stressing before finals week. There will be a cream pie toss, darts and other carnival games, along with snacks hosted by student organizations and clubs.

There will also be information about resources for students in need, and everyone is invited to donate money or leftover Munch Money (up to $200/student per semester, to be removed at the end of each semester once verified by Dining Services). The donated swipes and cash donations will be converted into gift cards to be distributed by the Wood Center food pantry to students who self-identify as being food insecure; the cards can be used to buy a hot meal at any campus dining location (with the exception of Subway).

The Rally for Ramen is co-hosted by ASUAF, the Honors Student Advisory Council, RHA, RISE Board and a number of campus clubs. For more information email Lisa Gilbert at lsgilbert2@alaska.edu.
