The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host its annual Really Free Market Saturday, May 17, in the Patty Center parking lot.
The Really Free Market started six years ago and since has become a family-friendly event that promotes freecycling of clean, usable and safe items. All Fairbanks community members are welcome to attend. People can drop off items from 8–10 a.m. The market will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. There is no bartering, trading or selling. All items are free.
“As a freshman, I saw it happening and the following spring I decided to get more involved," said Teal Rogers, a recent graduate from UAF and this year’s volunteer coordinator. "I loved it.”
Due to construction on campus, there will be increased truck traffic in the area. Market attendees are encouraged to use caution when driving and walking in the area and to watch for trucks.
