The UAF Office of Sustainability is seeking faculty members interested in incorporating the UAF Sustainable Village student design competition into classes. The competition is an opportunity to engage students in designing a cluster of small student housing units that will be cost effective, resource responsible, energy efficient and community focused. Construction of the village is scheduled to begin in 2012. The first meeting to gather students and teams together will be Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Cold Climate Housing Research Center or via conferencing.

The syllabus and design guidelines are online. Additional information about the contest can be found on the  UAF Sustainable Village student design competition Facebook page. Please help spread the word about the competition. If requested, a student or Michele Hebert, director of the Office of Sustainability, are available to attend a class and answer questions.
