Regents to hear UAF and UAA chancellor search updates

The University of Alaska Board of Regents will hold a special meeting today to hear updates on the searches for chancellors at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the University of Alaska Anchorage. The meeting will be from 1-2 p.m. at 204 Butrovich Building.

The meeting will be available by videoconference in 204 Administrative Building at UAA and in 204 Hendrickson Building at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau. The meeting will be livestreamed at http://www.alaska.edu/bor/live/ with the exception of the executive session.

Four candidates interested in the UAF chancellorship spoke in Fairbanks this spring, and their information may be found here. Dana Thomas has served as UAF interim chancellor since August 2016 .

UAA Chancellor Tom Case announced his retirement in April and will leave June 30. Sam Gingerich, UAA executive vice chancellor and provost, will serve as the interim chancellor at the Anchorage university. A search committee will start seeking applicants for the UAA chancellor position.
