January 9, 2014
Abstracts are due Friday, Jan. 10 for Kodiak Area Marine Science Symposium 2014.
The second Kodiak Area Marine Science Symposium is looking for presentations of research
conducted in Kodiak’s coastal waters. The event is being held at the Kodiak Harbor
Convention Center, April 22-25, 2014. The deadline to submit an abstract href="http://seagrant.uaf.edu/conferences/2014/kamss/call.php">http://seagrant.uaf.edu/conferences/2014/kamss/call.php is Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.
KAMSS 2014 will offer results of state, federal, and academic studies to fishermen,
students, and residents of Kodiak Island. Sponsored by the Alaska Sea Grant Marine
Advisory Program, University of Alaska Fairbanks, KAMSS provides a forum for researchers
to present their results to those interested in understanding how Kodiak’s marine
environment and resources function, change, and affect their lives and livelihoods.
KAMSS 2014 presentations and posters will encompass Kodiak marine science, from physical
oceanography to zooplankton, crabs to salmon, puffins to killer whales, and historic
to current human dimensions.
There is no charge to attend the symposium, but registration is encouraged to better
accommodate the total number of symposium participants.
