Research Showcase to focus on election rhetoric

Sarah Stanley will present "Use Your Words: Election Rhetoric" at 5:30 p.m, Wednesday, Oct. 17 in Schaible Auditorium.

Sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity, the Research Showcase is held each Wednesday and is free and open to the UAF community and the general public.

More about Sarah Stanley
Sarah Stanley joined the UAF faculty as composition director in the fall of 2010. She received her PhD from UMass Amherst in the English Department’s Composition and Rhetoric program. She has a master's degree in Language and Literature from the University of Kansas and a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from Creighton University. With Anne Herrington, she recently co-wrote an article included in the forthcoming collection Race and Racism in Writing Assessment, edited by Asao Inoue and Mya Poe.

Her research interests entail how disparate fields of linguistic and social theory inform writing instruction, classroom practices and curriculum. As a teacher and writing administrator, she emphasizes and is committed to learning ever more about the linguistic and cultural resources of diverse student populations.
