Residence Life hiring live-in tutors for 2016-2017

Residence Life is looking to hire peer mentors for next year. The 10-hour per week,
live-in tutoring position offers a room scholarship.
Peer mentors are part of the Education, Development, Growth and Experience program
in both first-year halls, Moore and Skarland. The mentors will live in a single room
in one of these two communities.
Peer mentors tutor in a wide variety of subjects. They also will:
- Help kick off the year by welcoming students during Rev-It-Up (move-in day).
- Build connections with students throughout the year by assisting with campus events.
- Support students academically (i.e. during scheduled office hours and study hall).
The EDGE program is looking for full-time students who:
- Have and will maintain a 3.0 GPA.
- Have completed or enrolled in a majority of required core classes.
- Have well-developed interpersonal skills to appropriately assist and advise students.
- Are in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university.
