Run for Respect 2016 will be April 24

The Nanook Diversity and Action Council and the UAF Green Dot initiative will host a
5K walk/run on the Fairbanks campus at 1 p.m. on April 24 to raise awareness of sexual
assault.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The course will begin and end at the UAF Police Department. Check-in will begin at
noon.
All proceeds will be donated to Girls on the Run, a program of the Interior Alaska
Center for Non-Violent Living that is committed to inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy
and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates
running.
The first 150 people to register and pay their fees will receive T-shirts. The registration
fees are $20 for general admission, $15 for students and military members and $10
for youths. Only a complete, paid registration guarantees you a shirt. Payment can
be submitted at these events:
- Mud Volleyball (Friday, April 22, noond–4 p.m.) — Nenana parking lot
- Springfest Field Day (Saturday, April 23, noon–4 p.m.) — Student Recreation Center field
- Run for Respect table (Sunday, April 24, noon) — UAF Police Department station
