Extension's berry and herb guides go on sale

The UAF Cooperative Extension Service is hosting a holiday sale on two of its popular
guides, “Using Alaska’s Wild Berries & Other Wild Edibles” and “An Alaska Herb Garden.”
Both will sell for $10 through Jan. 6.The berry book provides information on 18 berries and wild edibles, from blueberries to spruce tips. Included are tips for picking and preparing berries, methods of preserving and lots of recipes. The herb guide has sections on cultivating, harvesting, storing and using herbs and many recipes.
Purchase the books at Extension offices or call 877-520-5211 to order. Checks may also be mailed to Cooperative Extension Service, P.O. 756180, Fairbanks, AK 99775.
