Registration for Staff Appreciation Day sessions is open

Registration is open for dozens of sessions focusing on professional development,
health and wellness, safety, and personal development during Staff Appreciation Day,
Wednesday, May 14.
Vice Chancellor Pat Pitney is sponsoring breakfast burritos at the Wood Center at
8 a.m. Lunch will include pulled pork sandwiches, side dishes and a salad bar in the
Lola Tilly Commons at 11:30 a.m.– 1 p.m. Hotdogs and veggie burgers are also available
on request.
The chancellor’s welcome and longevity and awards ceremony will take place at 8:30
a.m. in the Wood Center ballroom. During the awards ceremony, the winner of this year’s
Cornerstone Award, selected from staff and faculty nominations from across UAF, will
be announced.

Biometric screenings are closed. However you can still schedule a screening at a Quest Patient Service Center.
Go to My.BlueprintForWellness.com, and use the registration key of UOAremote. Follow
the prompts to register and schedule your screening. The UA benefits office will be
scheduling on-site screenings, starting at rural campus locations beginning in May.
A schedule of screenings will be announced once finalized. You must act before June
30 to earn the wellness rebate.
Photo contest
Submit photos for the 2015 calendar Staff Council calendar contest and, if selected,
you will receive a print. Submissions from faculty and students are welcome, but only
staff who submit photos by Monday, May 12 by 5 p.m. will be entered into the contest.
Photos should be high enough resolution to be blown up to calendar size. UAF sites
are preferred. No subject will be excluded, but photos that have been best received
in the past are scenic, not photos of individuals. Photos of individuals will need
to have a signed model release before they can be used on the calendar.
Photo credit will be given to the photographer, but there is no compensation. Single
or a few photos can be submitted by email to the Staff Appreciation Day Planning Group
at UAF-Staff-Appreciation@alaska.edu. You do not need to be present to win the prize for the photo contest.
