Amy Cooper, UAF School of Management accounting instructor, has been named one of the 2015 Top 40 Under 40 in accounting by CPA Practice Advisor magazine. The award is given for involvement in the accounting profession and the local community.
“I enjoy being able to combine my passion for accounting with my passion for teaching,” Cooper says. “If I can show students how fun and relevant accounting is while at the same help them sharpen their skills to become a strong candidate for an accounting position and give them guidance for their career path, then I feel I am able to contribute a small piece to the future of the accounting profession.”
Cooper has long been recognized by students and fellow faculty as an excellent and engaging instructor, and has served for many years as faculty advisor for the student organization Great Alaskan Accounting People.
The full list of honorees can be seen on the CPA Practice Advisor website.
