Science course for teachers available

Investigations in Cyber-enabled Education, or ICE, is accepting applications for its fall 2011 snow cover course for educators. The  science professional development course for teachers features a collaborative online network for teaching and learning about the role of snow in global climate. Participants interact with a suite of online lessons and are given access to snow-related data and resources appropriate for classroom use.

Space is limited, so applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Other perks in the fall 2011 snow cover course for educators are:

  • Earn up to three ED 593 continuing education credits from UAF

  • Receive an $800 stipend upon completion of the course

  • Take advantage of course-related technical support


The course is divided into six units of online instruction related to snow and global climate. The course will run through December 2011.
