On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, nearly two dozen high-level Arctic officials will give presentations and participate in panels that explore the future role of scientific research in decision-making, policy, industry, security and environmental stewardship in the Arctic.

“It will be a wonderful opportunity to hear the visionary perspectives of those who are helping to guide our nations in addressing the challenges of a rapidly changing Arctic,” said Larry Hinzman, UAF vice chancellor for research and International Arctic Assembly coordinator.

Members of the UAF and broader Fairbanks community are welcome to register to attend. Online registration will be available through March 13, and on-site registration will be available after that as seating is available. The International Arctic Assembly will also be live-streamed from the Arctic Science Summit Week website at https://assw2016.org. Discussion and questions will be encouraged from online participants via the Livestream feed and Twitter using the hash tag #ASSW2016.

The full agenda for the International Arctic Assembly is available online at https://assw2016.org/about/assembly.
