Scopus database workshop for faculty and students

A two-part workshop on Scopus, a comprehensive abstract and citation database of scholarly articles, books and conference proceedings, will take place Thursday, Dec. 10. All students, staff and faculty are invited to participate.
Scopus users can investigate global research in science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Elsevier Publishing and the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library are offering the workshops, which cover the basics of using Scopus and advanced features and tools for scholars.
Workshop One: Scopus introduction, 10-11 a.m.
This is appropriate for all levels and will cover:
- What is Scopus?
- Why use this database?
- Tips to effectively and efficiently use Scopus
Break: 11-11:30 a.m.
Workshop Two: Scopus updates and analytics, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
This is appropriate for faculty, advisory staff and researchers, and will cover:
- New and updated Scopus features
- Specialized Scopus uses including author profiles, analytics and an intro to journal metrics
- Scopus roadmap
Both workshops are online via Zoom, with recordings made available after. Participants can opt to attend either or both sessions. Register online.
