Seale is new Rasmuson Library archivist

Rachel Seale has been named archivist of the manuscripts and photographs unit of the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections and Archives at the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Seale has been with the unit since 2009. In her new position, she will continue to work with donors on historical collections and will focus on adding to the university archives and arranging and describing those already in the repository. The Rasmuson Library is the official repository of all university records. Her duties include increasing visibility and access to the more than 20,000 linear feet of manuscript and photograph collections in the library.

From 2009 to 2011 Seale was assistant archivist for reference and has been an associate archivist and associate curator since 2011. She served previous stints at the Literacy Council of Alaska, the Forbush Memorial Library, in Massachusetts, and at the Baker Library in the Harvard Business School.
