September museum programs explore rivers

The University of Alaska Museum of the North is offering hands-on programs about rivers during the month of September.

At “Family Day: Rivers” on Saturday, Sept. 24, from noon to 4 p.m. visitors can get inspired by museum research and help create a river mural. There is no admission fee for children 14 and under, thanks to support from TOTE Maritime.

Other programs are included with admission. Early Explorers, for children 5 and under, meets each Friday from 10 a.m.-noon. Junior Curators, for kids 6 and up, meets Saturday, Sept. 17, from 2-4 p.m.
