A celebration recognizing Sharon Gramstad upon her retirement from the University of Alaska will be held Friday, Jan. 31, from 3 - 5 p.m. in Room 109 of the Butrovich Building.

Gramstad has worked at the university for more than 30 years. She started doing data entry for the University of Alaska Computer Network in 1982. She is retiring as an analyst programmer for the Office of Information Technology's Enterprise Applications Services at UA Statewide.

"I plan on spending my time relaxing at first, spoiling my granddaughter, working on my mandolin music and picking up the ‘pocket saxophone,'" Gramstad said. "I want to get into the habit of sleeping in until 8 a.m. and not going out into the cold if I don’t want to. There will be gardening and playing in the dirt, traveling and enjoying life with my family and friends. Hope to see you around! "
