Simmons receives Volunteer of the Year Award

Teisha Simmons, director of the Interior-Aleutians Campus, was one of six recipients of the First Lady Volunteer of the Year Awards. First
Lady Sandy Parnell announced the recipients April 2. The recipients were chosen by
an executive committee of Alaska community members.
The First Lady’s Volunteer of the Year Awards are awarded to those who engage in volunteer
activities within Alaska, show remarkable personal commitment to long-term volunteer
service, or have made a substantial impact on their community or the state.
The volunteers will be recognized at a luncheon and ceremony May 4. For more information
