UAF is participating in a stream cleanup day Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are needed to help clean trash and debris from Noyes Slough and the portion of the Chena River running through downtown.

The event will begin with a safety briefing at 9 a.m. at the Lions Club Park off Danby Road. Volunteers will work on foot and by canoe; rubber boots or chest waders are recommended. All supplies will be provided, as well as transportation to and from various points. All ages are welcome, but please note that children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
