Student projects and startups

University Relations

The UA Community Challenge sparked a broad UA discussion about how the university engages with the community (startups, companies, agencies, government) to identify projects for students and faculty that address pressing problems that UA can help solve. One April 19, Ky Holland  presented to the WERC group a summary of the pilot program and lessons learned from this past year.

A meeting on Friday, April 26, from 2:30-3:45 p.m. will be a followup discussion about how to improve the program for the summer and next academic year in support of UA student research and senior projects that support challenges developed by academic programs, centers and institutes, including cross-campus collaboration. You can attend the meeting by Zoom and in person in the BP Design Theater on the fourth floor of the of the engineering facility.

If you can not attend but have comments you can forward them to Ky Holland before the meeting at hrholland@alaska.edu or 907-727-2735. Following this meeting will be the OIPC World IP IDEA awards party. Everyone is invited to stay.
