Students needed for research on diet and well-being
January 25, 2021
A bit of your blood and time can help researchers learn more about the well-being
of students at UAF.
Professor Matthew Wooller's research group will be conducting a study to use natural
stable isotope markers of diet measured from very small dried blood spots to examine
diet and well-being of students at the start and end the semester. These data will
be used to examine whether diets and well-being change over time. The findings could
help formulate future guidelines aimed at promoting student well-being, and may ultimately
be used in ongoing research into the diet and well-being of students at UAF.
The project requires two visits to a laboratory in the Duckering Building at the start and end of the semester. You'll answer a brief, 15-minute survey regarding well-being, and only a small volume of blood (~0.5 ml) from a simple fingerstick is needed.
You'll receive a $20 coffee card after your second visit.
