Study Away Fair will share ways to learn while abroad
February 5, 2014
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days, UAF's Office of International Programs and Initiatives staff, representatives of study abroad program providers and previous study-away students will answer any questions you have.
On Monday, following the fair, there will be an information session about experiential learning abroad. The session, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Wood Center's upstairs conference room C/D, will cover international internships, service learning, community engagement and field study opportunities.
While away, students can earn UAF academic credits that may apply to a degree program. Trips can range from a few weeks in the summer to a semester or two. While some programs require knowledge of a foreign language, many others are taught in English or offer beginning-level language courses. Costs depend on the program and location. Most forms of financial aid can be used, and many scholarships are available.
