The School of Management will offer the Operations Management course BA 360 during a nine-day trip to China for MAYmester 2019.

Students will study in Beijing and Shanghai with SOM instructor Ruth Prato and earn 3 credits upon completion of the program. During the trip, students will visit cultural sites such as the Great Wall of China. The itinerary also includes tours of local companies and a university to learn about business practices and the college experience in China.

The trip departs on May 6 from Fairbanks (or an airport near the student) and returns on May 14. Students who sign up by Dec. 9 will receive a $100 discount.

The total trip cost of $4,180 includes airfare, hotel, in-country travel, entrance fees and some meals; the $4,180 does not cover the course tuition, fees and some other expenses.

There are two components to registering for this class: 1) registering for the class through UAF and 2) registering for the travel portion. Students should sign up for the class like they would for any other UAF course; they will need to meet the normal registration deadlines for spring semester 2019. For the travel portion, students must sign up for through the travel company; there is no set deadline for this portion of the registration process.

Interested students can find more details and apply online.
