Suicide on campus

March 27, 2018

Tori Tragis

The UAF Police Department on Sunday responded to an apparent suicide on the north side of campus. Although the individual was not a UAF student or employee, tragedies like this are a reminder that many people in our community struggle with mental health issues, and these can become acute this time of year.

If you or someone you know needs help, UAF has resources for both employees and students.

Employees are eligible for free counseling through the Employee Assistance Program. Please call 1-888-993-7650, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For students, contact the Student Health and Counseling at 474-7043 to speak with someone, or, for more information, visit
